I consider my social media to be for the most part safe for work. However there are a few details I feel I should let potential viewers know.
⦁ I may discuss and reblog posts that talk about mental illness, including details of suicide ideation and self-harm. These posts will predominantely be either based on my own experiences; will pertain to topics such as symptoms, warning signs, causes, studies, treatments, etc.; or about portrayals of these topics in media. I will try my best to avoid anything too graphic and to give only as much information that I feel is necessary and will try to tag material with proper warnings.
⦁ To elaborate on the "my own experiences" part I was professionally diagnosed with major depressive disorder, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. I also have some abandonment and trust issues, self-worth and identity issues, a history of suicide ideation and a few instances of self-harm; and while not that common, have had panic attacks before. While I try to keep my own personal issues in regards to these in check (and I feel I do succeed for the most part) on my social media I will admit that it has shown itself on a few instances. If you feel like any instance of such behavior being displayed could be potentially sensitive for you I'd suggest not following me.
⦁ I may also discuss and reblog posts that discuss abuse, which may include but not be limited to: emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, toxic friendships, child abuse, intimate partner abuse, elder abuse, gaslighting, other forms of domestic abuse, professional abuse, workplace abuse/bullying, etc. I was subject to abuse as a child (mostly emotional with some physical incidents) and I've seen others go through it as well and so it's a topic that I have a personal connection with and something I am very outspoken against and really want to raise awareness of. I'll try to tag these topics with proper warnings.
⦁ Also in regards to the above, this includes spanking as punishment and other forms of corporal punishment. I am highly against spanking and there are numerous studies in the child development and psychological field that make it clear there is a correlation between spanking and negative mental health effects. I consider spanking to be physical abuse and am highly in favor of it being criminalized and to raise awareness of its negative effects and healthier alternatives to help children learn of the consequences of their actions.
⦁ I do not post nor reblog sexually explicit or pornographic material on any of my social media, which I define as printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings (Oxford Languages) and that lacks definitive educational value. Occasionally I might reblog topics that discuss sexual abuse (as stated previously) and harrassment, the importance of consent, and health of the reproductive system. If I reblog or discuss these topics I likely feel like they're presented in an educational and non-titillating manner and as stated in the mental health section above I try to only reblog posts that show only as much that is necessary. Because of this I feel like they do not fall under the umbrella of pornography or not-safe-for-work. I'll try to tag these topics with proper warnings.
⦁ Topics pertaining to discrimination, which can but is not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination, ableism, government repression of its citizens etc. might be brought up on my social media. This can include instances of violence and other forms of abuse. I'll try to tag these topics with proper warnings.
